I would fold in hand 1 unless I had a read that the table was very laggish (probably true at 2/4 though). The problem is that 3 players showed strength preflop. If there was a raise and cold-calls (or limpers, then raise/reraises) then it's much more acceptable to call since you know lots of dead money is in there. But in this spot you are usually the one putting in the money with an equity disadvantage.
I use the line of checking the turn and calling the river (raising if I improve) against tricky aggressive players, but I would bet against an unknown 2/4 player.
