Default Poker Hand

How am I doing?

6-max. A player open raises in the cutoff and I 3-bet from the button with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. The blinds fold. Heads up. I have only 32 hands on my opponent. His VPIP is 37.5 and PF raise is 18.75. I remember he seemed very aggressive.

Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

He checks and calls.

Turn: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

He check-raises and I call.

River: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

He bets and I raise.

Comments on all streets welcome.

I'd call the river. He seems to be laggy, and I don't think most lags are capable of folding. I do think there's a chance you have the best hand still, but I really don't think you're getting a heart to fold

You call the river because: you waste a bet when he has a heart & calls. You don't gain a bet when he does not have a heart & folds. You lose a bet or 2 when he has a big heart & 3bets your ass.

Ok, I probably wouldn't have posted this hand if the guy called the river raise and showed me the 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. And had he 3-bet, I'd probably have folded. It's turns out the nice fella called the river and my hand was good. Hand history revealed the K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

I still don't like the raise and see it as -EV in the future.

Posting those results is justifying to yourself that your play was correct based on the outcome. Don't fool yourself, the river play was dumb & will cost you vs. any decent opponent & even most LAGgy opponents will be able to take advantage of plays like this.
