5/5 TT hand
I'm viewed as a tighty but running good at this table... I open for $35 with TT. Guy two to my left calls, as he does frequently - he usually folds to a bet on the flop. The next guy also calls, who is new to the game but I get the impression that he's a contributor. I think a blind called. The pot is 150.
The flop is A96 rainbow. The blind checks and I bet 75. the first caller folds, the new guy calls and the blind folds. Heads up. The pot is 300. The turn is an 8c which puts up a club draw (A96/8) and gives me a gutshot. I do not have the Tc. What's your plan for the rest of the hand? Edit: We're both 1500-2000 deep. He has me covered by a couple hundred. |

Re: 5/5 TT hand
Check/fold
I doubt I would bet the flop into 3 callers either. |

Re: 5/5 TT hand
I'd bet 100, and hope to hit my 7 on the river...
Ice - I think check/folding is a little weak here. |

Re: 5/5 TT hand
What do you think your opponent is calling you with on this drawless board?

Re: 5/5 TT hand
You would bet $100 into the $300 pot, knowing that he probably has an ace (or maybe even a pair higher than tens), and hope to hit a 10-1 shot with a gutshot? (or is it 11-1?)
Thats sounds like a bad plan to me. You're liable to get raised anyway if you bet $100. |

Re: 5/5 TT hand
Wow. I dunno what you guys are thinking by I'm in check fold mode with just tens and that board. As far as betting the turn again that is just ridiculous in my opinion. You would need to be in a game where your opponent is capable of like calling the flop with ats and then giving up later if you continue to show strength. And you better be pretty sure because you would need to be a lot more convincing than $100. I can't see any real downside to the approach of just checking and hoping to turn your set (or a baby that gets checked to you) and fold if someone else bets.

Re: 5/5 TT hand
Forgive me, I've been acting like a LAG recently, I also play in games where just becuase you raise and they call it doesn't mean either of you have an Ace.

Re: 5/5 TT hand
the turn seems like a ver straight forward check/fold...

Re: 5/5 TT hand
We're on the turn and the board is (A96/8) with two clubs and I'm first to act with TT, heads up with a 300 pot. I appreciate the advice so far... I'm hearing the support from the check/fold crowd. At the table I felt that I had a shot to win it with a bet and if he called I would still have 6 outs to hit. Had the turn been anything but a 7 or 8, I think I would have been more apt to check/fold. I bet 225 and he called. When he called I read him as having a medium made hand here - he's not drawing. Anyone like this line or am I asking for trouble?

Re: 5/5 TT hand
I think it's pretty clear not too many people like this line. He didn't fold on the flop, he didn't fold on the turn, he isn't likely to fold on the river and you aren't likely to have the best hand. That is why I don't think it is a good line.
