Default Louisiana Poker Rooms

Anyone have any experience in Louisianna Poker rooms? It's closer for me to fly to. I did a search and found that Harrah's has 20 tables in New Orleans, Paragon:7 tables, Coushatta:16 tables.
Any feedback info appreciated.
Thanx,

paragon you will probably only have 4/8 going. The games are super easy though.

Check the thread below on the harrah's new orleans regarding the daily 5/5 no limit games. About 2-3 times a week (not sure of the days) there's a 10-25 PLO game. As for limit, there are many 3-6 holdem games, a 1-4-8-8 H/O game, 6-12 holdem; evenings may get a 10-20 or 15-30 game going. 1-5 stud. I'll let others contribute about other new orleans casinos. I was in Shreveport LA last month and was unable to get a seat - the only poker room is at the Hollywood Casino. Multiple hour wait on a weekday afternoon.

BTW, if you are visiting new orleans, limit your hours in the poker room and go get drunk on bourbon street and listen to music. You can play poker online.

If you're talking Louisianna and not just New Orleans.....

Lake Charles has by far the best poker rooms in the state.
The Isle of Capri spreads 3/6/12, 10/20, 20/40, 1/3 NL (very wild games), and 5/10 PL 1/2 holdem 1/2 omaha hi.
Harrah's has 3/6/12, 5/5 blind NL, sometimes 10/20.

Action? If you can't find absolute action at these 2 places then it has ceased to exist in the world.

Hope this helps!

Go to New Orleans. The other towns are awful. Harrah's games are loose/passive daytime and loose/slightly-more-aggressive at night. You can enjoy yourself in the city and play any time you feel like it. Shreveport is not worth flying to. Lake Charles I don't know anything about.

Shreveport has a poker room - Hollywood. I don't like hearing that the waits are many hours long during the week - I'm headed there in a a couple of weeks and I decided to go Sunday-Tuesday to avoid the worst of the weekend mess. Until last July you could call ahead - I'd call when I left Austin and only have a couple hours wait when I got there. Now you gotta be there and 6-8 hours is what I've experienced on Saturdays.

Hopefully the waits will die down after the Horseshoe opens its poker room March 22. I'm not counting on it, but it couldn't hurt.
