Default Re: Split the Stud Forum?

One of the main reasons I like the forum in its current format is the ability to learn from a lot of experienced players. My first stud post (with an appalling 3rd street play) was castigated by numerous volume posters on this board, and the advice I have received since has been invaluable (with special mentions to AndyB who always seems to take time to answer even my most inane questions, and bigredlemon who PMd me after seeing me play horribly on Party which taught me a big lesson!.

my first post

In the 6 motnhs since then I have built my roll up and am now playing 3/6 and that would not have been possible without this forum, and I fear a low limit stud forum will just not get enough answers going. And without this forum then I would not have been able to win hands like this which was my biggest ever pot tonight, so if I ever meet any of you in real life I'll be buying you several beers!

I don't think there is enough traffic to warrant a split. There is a separate forum where the moderators discuss things like the splitting of forums. I'm pretty sure that the forums won't get split unless I bring it up, and I won't be bringing it up any time soon.

If the forums were to be split, it would be into stud and stud/8. There just aren't enough high-limit posts to warrant a separate section for those.

Even if we brought it up, I'd estimate the chances of Mat agreeing to it as zero.

Sure would unclutter the posts, if stud/8 had its own section. The two games are night and day. Just becuase they both give 7 cards to the player doesn't mean they are in any way similar. The strategy and hand selection is night and day. Let's honor the game of stud/8 by giving it its own place in the spotlight.
