couple of things:
1. most people discuss VPIP, rather than %SF. That said, my %SF is 30% on the nose.
2. a very wide range of preflop styles can be profitable in ssnl.

25NL 40% (kind of a joke/quest though)
100NL 35%
200NL 35%
400NL 25%
500NL 18%

all played on prima and all VP$IP (so add maybe 5% to get sawflop)

Umm...when I'm winning, it's probably about 18-22%. When I'm not winning, it's closer to 25-30%.

short handed 18-22%? this seems really tight to me. i'd say on average i see a little more than 35% of flops.

I don't think 18-22 is tight. I think 18 is on the tight side, but if the game is aggressive it is necessary. I think 22 is just about right for SSNL 6m.

So was mine. NL25 that's fine. Maybe for a better player, it's fine at NL100, too, but not for me. I need to be around 22, I think. Obviously, the better you play postflop the looser you can profitably play preflop.

Well it depends how high you play. I think that for NL 100 22% seems low...i feel like setting up an image is one of the most important aspects of killing the shorthanded tables. so i raise a lot with position and often call raises w/ it. as you move up though, then i agree that 35% is way too high. at NL 400 i probably won the most when i played 25%. (i know it's all situational...i'm just trying to give an average).

It sounds to me like you are a much better postflop player than I am. I'm working on bringing it up as I feel more confident. Currently, I think I nut peddle too much.
