My budget was $30 on Amazon.

I primarily play live homegame shorthanded and ring $.50/1. I also play some 7-15 person home tournaments. All of these are, for the most part, against weaker players.

I would consider myself an intermediate. I understand most strategy, have been playing for quite some time, have a great grasp on odds. My problems usually consist of not considering all factors and thinking things through and hand reading (both by play patterns and by tells). I could also refine my strategy a bit.

My poker library consists of:

Theory of Poker
Super System 2

I bought:
The Little Green Book
Mike Caro's Book of Tells

including shipping, the final cost was about $29.

thanks

On a Pass/Fail grade, this is Fail. The Green Book is for NL MTT games against good players. It isn't going to help you in your limit games, and will not be much help in 1 or 2 table home tournaments against weak players.

For your purposes, the relevant material in Caro's Book of Tells is readily available free from his web site.

You did not really provide enough info about your games to make some decent recommendations. As the other poster said, SSHE should be high on your list.

I am an idiot, sorry.

$.50/1 No Limit Ring games. I never play limit. I should have specified this in my post...

Do you think the LGB can be applied to NL cash?

Absolutely. It has advice for both tournaments and cash games.

Ok, well then that changes everything
I might have gone for HOH1 rather than Caro's book though. I think it has good info that can be applied to both NL cash games and tournaments as well.
However, I definately think LGB was a good pick up, I enjoyed it. Hard to find good NL cash game books out there.
