Default 30/60 88 confused

Opponent looks real laggy, but only ~35 hands on him.

I think that you can fold the flop. Even if you improve you can't play you hand with confidence so your implied odds are low.

88 is very tough to play early, folding is probably best. If you're going to try then raising is the way to go, limping is awful.

I think you can safely fold the flop.

Default Now I\'m confused...

If you're going to fold on this turn why are you calling the flop?

How about, raising the turn and representing a monster? It could easily look like AJ, QQ, 99. This is very player dependant, if the guy can make a fold I'd try it since you probably have 6 outs.

How about, no?

Fold preflop.
Having made it to the flop, fold the flop.

To all of you who are saying fold preflop, no, no, and no. For as long as I've been on the mid-high forums, it's always been standard to open-raise 77+ from UTG.

Everybody advocating a fold PF or on the flop kind of confuses me.

If we're assuming the villian is basicall unknown, what sort of hand would your 'average apparently laggy' opposition play this way.

He probably does'nt have a Q, as he would have check/raised the flop. He probably doesn't have a J either, for the same reason. A 9 is possible, as he may donk a nine, but unlikely.

His flop and turn bets, most likely, are being made because he wants you to fold, and he's probably putting you on no pair, which means he probably has worse then no pair, and probably has a T in his hand.

After the board pairs, i'm seeing the river, i'm just not convince this guy has anything here even 50% of the time, and i'm probably calling any river card that isn't a K.

You really think he's betting the turn OOP putting you squarely on AK, afer you've called the flop?
