Default Took a shot at 10/20 short, got feelings hurt

I tried out 6-max 10/20 on pokerroom and I managed to lose 23 BBs in a little over 60 hands. This seems awful to me. I've been analyzing my hands and I feel like I didn't play all that bad although there's obviously something wrong going on. Should I pay so much attention to the results of one "shot" went bad and go down or try again?

well you cannot judge it based on 60 hands. ive seen depressing stretches where i cant even win a single pot in 60 hands, but it doesnt matter in the long run if you know youre playing well. you should watch the table for a little while before joining, to see what kind of table it is. also if i were you id join a full table so the blinds come around less often.

6-max 10/20 is a high variance game (much semibluffing, bluffing, marginal calldowns etc.) so if you take a shot you should put your "stop loss"-limit at more than 23BBs for the shot to make any sense.

If you are taking a shot with less than 200BB then you are just asking for trouble like this.

Set aside however much money you are taking your shot with, and keep playing until you either lose it all or feel like you can't beat the game. If one 20BB downswing is going to scare you though, then maybe you should rebuilt your confidence first and then step back and take the shot.

Losing 20bb+ in under 100 hands is normal at 6-max. Enjoy.

exactly what limit were you jumping up from? if you can find an 8/16 game, i would try that first. If not, i would simply go in to 10/20 that the play will be much different from low limit HE.

23 BBs is nothing, 60 hands is even less.

Plays some more

Honestly man, while while this may be a lot of money for you to lose it is pretty common in the game. I'd say something like this happens fairly often to me.
