Default An \'image play\' in a won pot

This is a play I've used today a few times. I wonder if it's in anyone else's arsenal. You're against a relatively poor player who draws too thin too much. You are pretty sure he's on a draw and won't call any bets on the river. I thought this might get under his skin a bit, confuse him or something else.

Paradise 50NL, 5max. I cover with $65 or so, Villain has $48 in SB.

Preflop, I limped w/ A2s, button limps, blinds are in.

Flop A25r. Checked to me, I pot, called by button and villain.

Turn is a Q, checked to me, I bet 1/2 pot, button drops, villain calls.

River is another ace. Villain checks and I push.

Due to a few factors I felt certain villain had no hand - probably a missed gutshot or something else that is not paying off a VB. He was very loose, poor, and liked to minbet or blocking bet marginal holdings while check-calling draws. He did the slow-check on the river.

Basically, do you ever make a push like this to confuse or irritate an opponent when you know you won't get paid? Obviously only against a very poor player, but that's who I was up against.

To the OP...I don't get it. Why will this confuse or irritate your opponent?

If he is as bad as you say he is only playing his cards, and now has K high or something and does not care about insta-mucking.

If you are so sure about his hand I think it makes more sense to bet some very small amount that will shame him if he folds to such a small bet, or calls and shows junk.

Also, bet more on the turn (as much as he will call with an inferior hand).
