Default Stars freeroll

I'm going to break my Internet poker cherry on Tuesday. Since I was planning on playing at Stars, and not depositing any money (since I'm poor, I don't want to get into a losing cycle and keep depositing, because I'm a cheap bastard, etc.), I was wondering about their freerolls.

Specifically, I was wondering...how many players typically show up? About how deep is it paid? About how much does first place get? I'm guessing a couple thousand, a few dozen, and a hundred bucks or so, am I at least in the right ballpark?

Thanks in advance.

totally useless. bet365 has one that you can actually win some cash in, as well as a good signup for a tiny BR player. also check out the sites and promos that give free money

Stars has such a big field with their freerolls - like 3000-4000 players if I remember right.

You should check out the freerolls that the newer poker sites are offering. Often, these will still pay out a few bucks, but you will have a entry field of only 1000.

Also, some of the new sites also will give you $10 free to try out the real money tables. If you get on a good little streak to start, it's possible to build it into a decent bankroll.

Stars freerolls suck. The prize is a satellite to another tournament with about 1000 people in it and a $400 prize pool. Pathetic. I think Royal Vegas and Pokeround both have a deal to start you with $10. The catch is if you want to cash out your winnings, you have to deposit money and play 500 raked hands. Not a bad deal though, like dire said. Also, search for PSO's "instant bankroll." I'm not real sure how it works but it sounds pretty lucrative to a new player.

If you're serious about online poker, then take advantage of one of the "free bankroll" promotions that one of the above posters mentioned. Grind your bankroll up to a few hundred bucks, then hit bonuswhores.com (and the internet bonus forum here) and don't look back.

last i knew, there was the IB promo from pso and some affiliates may also have free empire money. in additional, royal vegas and pacific poker used to and probably still give 10$ free. i think crazy also gives 10 away.

$1,000 prize pool, not $400. And there no catch.

On Stars if you deposit and play 500 raked hands you will collect plenty of FPPs (Frequent PLayer Points) and can enter freerolls with much better prizes.
