Default I need a new alarm clock.

Willing to spend around $100. I prefer being lulled gently from my sleep so I kept my old clock tuned to the local classical station. I've recently thought about trying nature sounds too. I started looking at units with CD playing ability for this purpose and then found this. After reading reviews on epinions it seems Sharper Image gear has suspect reliability and their customer support is run by donkeys.

Let me have it.

Interesting. You use one of them?

Nope. Just heard they work pretty well and I assume it's a lot more enjoyable to wake up to light than to some noise.

I'd try one out but I don't want to spend that much money when I can just use the alarm on my cell phone.

I wear hearing aids during daylight hours so I need something that generates a little volume. The one I linked has a ramp up feature which will allow me to set the volume pretty high but not get blasted out of bed.
Although Sharper Image does sell this.

That seems cool, especially if you can set the timers on each thing separately. I'd love for the vibrating thing to go off 20 minutes before so I could laze around a little before actually getting up.

The biggest problem with a CD alarm clock is that if you actually use a music CD that you like, you will come to hate whatever song you use. So, pick a decent song, but not one you love.

I have a Sting song play in mine and every time my wife and I hear the song on the radio, we instantly change the channel. Any association with having to wake up for work is a bad one.

I use the Sonic Boom. I have so much trouble getting out of bed with regular alarm clocks, but the vibrating does it.
