not only is it great for customers, its even better for the house, since what are you going to do now is safely go to the gambling tables while u wait, thus earning them more $$$$.

Im surprised so few pokerrooms have this paging system

Hoe many pagers do you think are going to end up in middle America a year?

and probably wait like 5 hours for a seat...........
that seating pager thing is the best freakin' idea for a waiting list ive ever heard of, especially in a large casino like MGM... awesome [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Pagers can be convenient but they seem to have a significant downside in that they really slow down the lists (a player paged in another part of the casino may take 10 minutes to get to the room) in the rooms with pagers where I've played. Pros and cons, I guess.

yeah, it also makes sense that the pager system would slow down the waitlist... but ways around that might be:

imposing a 5 minute countdown once your paged, then you'll lose your spot to the next... or maybe having two lists, one with the system, one without .. and the one without being the perferred

regardless, if you make this your regular cardroom and the floor knows you, it's one heck of a system

one bad thing about the room location is its pretty damn far from the food court! talk about like a 1 mile walk inside of MGM if I remember correctly - yeah I know you can order at the table, and theres alot of space for carts - but theres nothing like a real quick slice of pizza

question - how close is it to the parking garage AND is tropicana the best way to access the MGM garage? [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Koval Lane is where the best entrance to the parking garage is. Use Trop, Harmon, or Flamingo to get onto Koval.

As for the distance? The poker room is the absolute farthest thing from the parking garage without actually going out front of the casino. The room is in the front part by Stuido 54 and Rain Forrest Cafe. It's right near the front entrances off of the Strip and Trop.

Koval Lane is definitely the best way to the MGM garage. I don't knwo where the new poker room is, but when i lived in Vegas and played at the MGM everyday I found that parking at the Tropicana was much closer for gogin to the MGM poker room.

Players will be able to order food right at the table at the touch of a button by the dealer. Dealers will also be able to page a cocktail server, along with swiping an MGM players card for comps. I think I remember him saying it will be $1.50 an hr for comps. All of the tables looked to have automatic shufflers on them. There seemed to be a ton of space in between each table, as well.
