How often do you close/open databeses in PT?

For the regualrs, how often do you close an old one and opena new one? I would assume monthly or quarterly. Reasons greatly appreciated.

usually when my DB starts to get slow, especially if i'm switching levels.

it's often useful to export 10,000 or so of your most recent hands so that you don't lose all your player information.
