Default AK, draw heavy board I wait for turn.

Reads mmm... not so important here. Tonight though at 5/10 PP
UTG folds, MP calls, CO calls, Chairman Wood raises K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] from the button, SB calls, BB folds. All the rest call 1 more and we see the flop for slightly less than 9 SB.

Flop: T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Not bad flop but extremely draw heavy.

SB checks, MP bets, CO calls, The Chairman calls, SB calls.

We see a 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the turn for nearly 6.5 BB

SB checks, MP bets, CO folds, The Chairman Raises, SB folds MP calls

River 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
MP checks CMW bets

Waiting for turn for hand protection is not really in my head here. I would have waited for the turn to raise if I was last to act (in regards to the bettor) and everyone called in between. I also think I would have done this in a much smaller pot (Same amount of people but say for some reason I didn't raise pf with AK). What do you guys think?

Great, any objections does anyone need to raise this flop?

I raise the flop.

I dont want to wait for a J9 or AJ to 3bet my turn raise.

I also want gutshots and lower pairs to pay an extra bet on the flop not check/fold the turn when they dont improve.

Gutshots can call an extra bet on the flop profitably. I was thinking, I probably have the best hand here but my equity can't really be all that high. I wait until a brick comes, then raise. Imagine I don't have K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and a club hits, I might be able to get away from this hand without the dumping of an extra flop bet when my pot equity may be the highest but isn't all that high. Even with this K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], I still think this is the best play where you can gently call a turn bet when a club hits. If an A hits i'll reevaluate, and if a 9 hits I can probably get away from this hand cheaper. I don't think raising the flop is bad. Just waiting till the turn is cooler and I think makes more money in the end.
