Default holdem home game any advice?

hi,

Im a newby texas holdem player.I have been playing for about 6 months in a home game.
Ive read all i can(supersystem, theory of poker and sklanskys texas holdem)and have been doing ok.
recently we changed the game format to reflect the local casino games(in preparation!!) and now we play a pot limit tournament game with 7-9 players and a lengthy rebuy period.
Ive had most sucess at the end of the night when the blinds are way upand the field has thinned. i think thats to do with playing mostly head up pots and playing aggressively.
Im wondering whether to play much more aggresively earlier in the game to force those head up pots i love. ie raising the pot from the button when four people have limped in with suited connectors

any thoughts would be appreciated !!

Anybody who blindly raises the pot with anything in the hope of forcing a heads up against (????)suited connectors will find that they get burned more often than not especially against 7-9 players....I would go back and re-read those textbooks if I were you.
