Default What should I bet to protect a made straight from a flush draw?

First of all I'm bad I bought in with $25 for $50NL ring game. I'm more comfortable with stacks at $25NL but needed raked hands to complete a referral promotion, so no comments about that please.

UTG+1 is a fish 40.7/3.7/1.12 over 81 hands
MP2 is 53.3/20/0.8 only over 15 hands

I re-raised on the turn with 2 callers. And called on the river as I figured he wasn't on a flush draw based on his previous betting patterns. How should I have played this? Comments on all streets welcome.

A pot raise would be enough to force him to make a mistake. Just add up the pot up to your decision plus the amount you are about to call and add that sum to the amount you are about to call- that's the amount you should raise to.

That would be: 3.25+6+6+3+3=$21.25

You only raised to $10, which allowed UTG+1 to call 7 to win a pot of $25.25 with MP2 left to act who will probably call the raise and add to the pot. So he had 22% to call and a 20% to win, but the -2% is made up for the implied odds on the River as someone will surely pay him off so he pretty much did not make a mistake, as he also had a straight on the Turn.

Another reason why I love playing at Ultimate Bet- they already have the pot amount automatically calculated for you, saving you lots of headaches.

He had odds to call if he was guaranteed a win if he hit... With 63, he made a mistake but got lucky.

IMO, you don't need to raise quite $22 for him to make a mistake, but something in the 15-16 range (which would force him to call $15 into a $31 pot - so he wins $46 for his $15, and 3-1 is not quite enough for his flush draw... In this game, he's calling just about every non-overbet, though.

With your stack, push turn.

With a flush draw on the flop, you push as soon as you hit your straight. Its a very vulnerable hand and must be protected immediately.

UTG+1 had a small one-card straight and the flush draw. For all he knows (which he probably doesnt care) he's freerolling you so all the money in the world wont make him fold the turn.

Ditto. UTG+1 wasn't going anywhere, no matter what you bet. Not knowing that, however, push on the turn.

I bet at least full pot, meaning, call his 3 bet, making the pot 19, then push over 19 over, so make it 22 to go on the turn...that's close enough to your whole stack to just push everything in. That effectively kills his odds. You let him suck out cheap and then paid him off, congrats.
