Default Doyle Brunson Chat on ESPN.com

It's a good chat where he discusses many different players and things. Talks about his poker1.com website, Gus Hansen in the big game and other topics fit for this forum.

Brunson Chat.

[ QUOTE ]
Brent (SF): Did Gus Hanson get busted in the Big Game earliery this year?

Doyle Brunson: (4:43 PM ET ) Yes, but he made a nice recovery. He got back what he lost, and then some.

Prospector3 West Branch IA: It's the first hand of the WSOP main event. The first guy to act goes all-in. Everyone folds to you the BB. You have pocket aces. Do you call his all-in, or fold and wait for better odds later?

SportsNation Doyle Brunson: (4:07 PM ET ) The day I fold pocket aces before the flop is the day I stop playing.

Let's hope to god we can put that question to rest already.

Sadly, that isn't the question that won't die. It's the one about the entire table going all-in ahead of you.

I'm afraid not. This isn't the question unfortunately. As the first hand of a long tournament, this is probably one of the easiest calls I can imagine. The real question is if this happens to you while you're on the bubble with several other stacks being shorter than you.

Isn't this a pretty retarded question? It's a wonder Doyle didn't slap the inverviewer.

Oh, yeah, I'm gonna wait for a "better spot" than being very likely a 4-1 favorite and at worst 3-1. There are better spots than that just all over the place.

Well, the rumor said that he went broke from the big game, and Doyle does confirm this. As to when Gus made a comeback it could have been recently? Or, Doyle could be just trying to save Gus' butt by saying he made it all back, because Doyle has been known to help out friends...see "bid" for WPTE...LOL
