Amazing.....that's the one movie that popped immediately into my head. I saw it hungover and alone in my living room in 1985, I'm still freaked out by it.

Me and a friend who'd seen it before took another guy without telling him, and got him stoned first.

I swear, the confused, mortified look on his face lasted for hours after the film ended.

hehehe

Un chien andalou (1929) (An Andalusian Dog) - writer Salvador Dali and director Luis Buñuel (of Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and Belle de Jour) do a 16min short where they show an eyeball getting cut.

Depends. Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein freaked me out when I was five or six, along with The Fly (1958). But, I doubt they'd do it today.

Anyway, two good B&W horror films: The Haunting (the original) based on The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson and Carnival of Souls. And a creepy Western: El Topo.

Oh, God, don't get me started.

I was eight years old when I saw it. That fat-cheeked angel is STILL haunting my nightmares.
