Default Rake and moving up

I was hoping that some of the more mathematically inclined could help me here. I know that if I move up from 2/4 to 3/6 my BB/100 is going to drop, but every big bet won will obviously be larger... I'm really still trying to understand the effect that rake has on expectation. At 2/4 thru 10/20 the rake structure at Party is the same. This means that the higher limit you play (within this range), the lower the percentage of rake your will pay - since the cap is $3 for all limits within this range. Is this correct? And how much of a difference will it make in the long run?

Thanks to any responses.

Your question is should you move up because of the rake. The answe is no. You should move up because you are winning consistently, think you can at the higher level, and have the bankroll for it.

You must move up if your win rate is better, monetarily, than the win rate at a lower rate. A smaller rake will increase your win rate but not enough to make it the only reason why you would move up. Also, how moving up a level will improve your play and future expectation

There is an excellent post about this-I'm staying in a hotel on business, so I don't have the link nor the inclination (to my everlasting shame) to retrieve it, but it contains this information (and much more):

.5/1 level: Average rake per hand: 37 cents
1/2 .59
2/4 .92
3/6 1.56
5/10 2.02

I forget 15/30.

PM me in 2 days and I'll send you the link.

I think my first post was a little confusing. I guess I was just trying to say that I understand some of the effects that moving up in limit will have on my expectation.

I am really interested in understanding how the rake in a higher limit game (with the same rake schedule) will affect the overall rake as a percentage. Again, assuming the rake schedule at Party, where 2/4 thru 10/20 has a $3 cap.

I might want to add this to my list of things to consider before moving up.

Thanks to any responses.
