i\'m not running bad, i\'m playing bad!
i'm playing 2/4 and 3/6 at PP and i usually do very well (atleast 1.5bb/100) at regular tables without total retards, but when i find myself in a really "good" game full of calling stations, i can't seem to win. i used to think "wow, this moron coldcalled two bets with T7o, missed the flop and still called me down, even though i just lost this pot i will make a fortune!". but i'm not making any fortunes at these games. i seriously have no idea what to make with hands like AQ against these people. you can't really semibluff with them, since they'll call anyway. you can't really valuebet them, since there's a pretty good chance they hit atleast SOMETHING on the flop. should you just check/fold, virtually telling them that they can take down the pot any time i check the flop? i know i could just stick to regular tables, but i'd rather get better at playing against idiots.
i'm talking mainly about shorthanded games, but fullring too to some extent. i have read the sections on these games in sklanskys hold em book, but he's talking about games where 8 people see the flop, which isn't really the case. what should i do? which books cover these areas best? what should i think about when playing in these games? what the hell should i do with my ace highs? |

Yeah...I just found out my winrate is down at absolute due to a pokertracker problem loading hands since 10/18. I spent a few hours stewing about this too....damn.

ok yeah. this was kinda of a dumb post. could have easily found that answers i was looking for myself. but you know how it is sometimes, you lose a bunch to silly plays and semitilting and go like "goddamnit!"
sorry bout that one. i'll try to post worthwhile stuff in the future... |
