I haven't lived in the state's for awhile, and I've been oversea's for the last half year..but why isn't Obama running?

Obama is a good vp choice. I think he could be a great Senator and would like to see him stay there. Maybe if the dems loose the Gov in Illinois to the repubs this time around Obama could make a run at Gov in the future. For repubs its Haley Barbour. He has good connections within the party and looks good in his Katrina response. The choice in 08 will be Barbour vs. Edwards.

Also, you need to be at least 45 to run for president. I'm not exactly sure how old he is, but he still seems fairly young.

Just in case you were wondering, you need to be 35 to run for the senate, and 25 to run for congress. Woohoo, I can now officially run for congress!

Wrong. Kennedy was 43 when he was elected and Teddy Roosevelt was 42 when he was elevated from VP by McKinely's death. You have to be 35.
