In the Bay Area (well, Bay101 and Garden City, at least) the colors are quite different from what you describe:
$1 blue $2 green $5 yellow $10 red $20 black (GC is different from Bay101, I think) $100 white $500 purple |

The $500 chips here (Kansas City) are orange instead of purple. They are also orange on Partypoker I think. It seems like I've heard of some other places that do that, but I'm not sure.

(Good thing they don't have $10 or $20 chips -- they'd want to play $10/20 and $20/40 with them, respectively!) |
