I like it. Put the BB on a continuation/AAxx bet, and MP5 (who also would have suspected this) would have more than likely made the move first had he had a set.

FYI I play top-two pair the same exact way.

Looks OK to me. I put MP1 on something like 9TJQ or 9TQK

This statement:

Is completely contradictory to this statement:

In regards to this hand.

You have said, "I put your opponent on a hand that completely crushes you. I think you have played well by committing all your chips against that hand"

I read his post as sarcastic? I've been way off in reading sarcasm lately though.

Sure aces was being sarcastic and properly so. It seems clear that MP1 has a drawing hand as well, so not only did hero get allin versus that hand on the turn with a hand likely to be dominated kicker-wise and drawing to a split, he also forfeited the power of his position and any river bluffing ability by doing so.

Bluff, I think dibbs was telling aces that he thought joe was being sarcastic to... ah, forget it.

Yes, yes, I think you are on to it. This branch is making my head spin a bit.

To me, the real question is what did MP1 have: 8-8-x-x or some type of straight draw.

It is also possible, though much less likely, that he had J-J-x-x or J-8-x-x. I know, I know, J-J-x-x should have reraised the flop and J-8-x-x should have folded on the turn, but crazier things have happened in those PL100 games. He could have been one of the crazy HE players slow-playing his set and letting our OP "trap" himself

MP1's call of both BB's bet and your raise is eerily reminiscent of hands where foes ended up showing me a flopped bottom/middle set. Irritating.

Is there any reason not to raise full pot on the flop? The stacks don't seem deep enough to me to make pot control a significant consideration for a turn push. Seems like any fold equity is working on the flop or not at all.
