I totally agree. Of course you would have to have some way to die if you needed to. You would be sad when people died, but you would get to see where mankind ends up, and that would be better than any downside I can think of.

This is the correct answer, plus some caveat that there's no gotcha. i.e. you're immortal, but your body still deteriorates or you can teleport, but somehow it's done in a way that screws something else up.
