Default JJ, Any other way to play this?

I wasn't comfortable with this hand from the start but Idon't see how else I could have played it. I have to 3 bet JJ right? 1: it's a value bet with all these callers & 2: it helps define UTG hand. Although his cap had me thinking a big pocket pair, I thought a flop bet was the best play. When no one raised, I felt I had to keep betting although I really started to fear a hand like QQ (or KK if he was really passive) worrying I had AA.

UTG was sLA-P over about 40 hands. He hadn't done anything out of line. UTG+2 had only been at the table for 6 hands and not played any of them. MP1 & MP2 were your typical really good (good for me) fishes.

Don't fear monsters under the bed. You played the hand fine. If UTG did show queens, kings or aces, then so be it. You still won from that hand because you could have lose more bets, but didn't due to his passive play.

Nice hand.

For what it's worth, I play it the same. (I hate playing JJ though, so take that into account.)

For me this is one of those situations where I just close my eyes and bet. I can't checkraise to get people out, and the pot is huge, so I'm betting until they give me a reason to stop. I'd love to hear a better way to play this from anyone who has one. (In a smaller pot, I might check/call the river, I think...)

I do wonder what UTG+2 had, though. Sits out 6 hands, then comes in calling two cold, calls a pre-flop cap, and calls down on a miserable flop including the river? TT?
