ZJ out in 18th, so unlucky.

Button open raises to 26k with blinds at 5k/10k. ZJ in the SB raises all in to 62k. Button has it covered.

Button thinks. And thinks. And thinks. And calls with KQ.

ZJ has A9.

River - Q.

I don't really want to criticize someone far better at these than I am, but that seemed like a pretty bad reraise with no folding equity.

If anything, a stop 'n' go might have been better...but I wouldn't have even played back at her with A9o, especially since most players seemed to play a bit weak/tight and their blinds could be easily stolen.

That reraise allin was instantaneous. I wonder if that was a factor in taaaadaaaa's decision to call...

I disagree about the folding equity for two reasons.

A) ZJ always showed down strong pocket cards.
B) ZJ had been pretty passive to blind steals up until this point.

I can't fault them for either play at this point in the tournament with blinds getting higherand higher.

It was a weak open raise from a loose player on the button. My hand is a favorite the vast majority of the time. The SB + BB creates a lot of potentially dead chips in the pot too.

Don't forget that I was already in for 5k too. I'm risking 57k chips to win 77k. I don't even need to be favored to make that play, but I think I definately am the favorite there.

Oh yeah, I was suited.

taadaaa seems to be a good player usually. i've played w/ him in many tourneys on party, i think.

The guy who finished in 16th place, wwwPokerMD is Warren Karp, I believe. He used to (does?) write for Cardplayer. He was also a floorman at the WSOP.

Justin, did you think about pulling a stop and go? Why or why not?

I can't speak for ZJ but I think he had a few too many chips to go for a stop and go here. I think ZJ has enough folding equity preflop with almost a 40K reraise that I like the preflop push a little better. If he had maybe 10K less, the stop-n-go might be a better alternative.
