...and if you believe in timing tells, the river was an auto-bet.

Tough, I think I call it. Players at 2/4 will call the turn with king high or worse. Will that do that + bluff the river often enough, though?

Edit: Auto bet would also raise your bet, correct? If so I guess it's a fold.

Auto bet does not necessarily mean he would've raised a bet fwiw.

Folding the river is correct I think.

I'd 3-bet pre-flop in a flash to try to get this HU. Bet the flop, things go differently from there...

BY the by, the way you played the river you're just beggin to have the pot taken away from you. That isn't to say that he doesn't have the ace. But it seems a really weak fold to me.

I thought about that as I was going to bed, and yeah I like it better.

I know it's weak, I hated folding. But I just couldn't see myself being good here even 10% of the time.

I don't think it necessarily wrong but its a [censored] line to take. If you bet, he'll pretty much only raise with something that beats you. Check-calling prvent you from being bluffed off the best hand. BUT, like you, that river sucks and you might be better off saving a bet.

I think it would be better to bet/fold the river, as the A is often as scary for your opponent as it is for you. If she doesn't have an A, then she has to fear both a Q and the A. You may have her fold a PP that beats yours, although this has to occur 15% of the time for it to be right. PS I don't respect middle position posters; they are often action players that post so they can play right away.

I don't know about this. In fact, as villain I would raise with any 2 here...

Since the preflop raiser was a poster, we can give him a wider raise of hands, so I think you can check/call the river.
