Re: A 7s hits 2-pair.
Bet. He's loose and could be calling with a variety of hands on the flop. I wouldn't worry about getting checkraised here, in fact I wouldn't mind getting checkraised here, since he may very well do it with a hand such as QT.

Flop: ($5) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets $5, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls $5, MP2 folds. Turn: ($15) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG checks, Hero....? [/ QUOTE ] This gets interesting because of the flush draw! Normally I check behind here with two pair, hoping my opponent will make a medium-sized bet on the river that I can call. Without the flush draw, two pair is a dicey holding here because AQ and AT are likely -- and a turn c/r will make you vomit; also he might fold some garbage like A2 on the turn where it's possible that he'll bet it on the river. With the flush draw, though, I think it makes even more sense to check the turn, despite your dramatic increase in equity. Consider that AQ has you 75/25 on the turn, even with the flush draw... and you put yourself in prime shape against an unpaired ace for him to make his 2 pair on the river when you make a flush. Others may criticize this line because it doesn't maximize value against a hand like QT.. but I think you need a read to play a big pot here. I check behind on the turn. |

Re: A 7s hits 2-pair.
is there a good reason to check behind here?

Re: A 7s hits 2-pair.
Value bets his nuts. Two pair and the nut flush draw. Thats ALMOST has good as an open-ended straight flush draw with two over cards, but not quite.
