Crazy 3rd street fold?
Playing 8 seated PL 7 Stud on Prima poker 0.25/0.5
Table is loose passive with few raises but many players staying in for a raise on 3rd street. Currently holding (AA)3 rainbow on third street. Amongst the the other players' upcards I see one A and three 3s, i.e. I have at best one out to improve my hand at the moment. Two people just calling the bring in when it comes to me in middle position. I opted to fold, since I felt I was very likely to get drawn out by one of those loose callers on later streets. Reasonable decision? |

Re: Crazy 3rd street fold?
I would look at 4th street rather than raise immediately. You want to control the size of the pot so you can bet big if you catch something favorable later and won't get bet out of the pot. I wouldn't fold 3rd.

Re: Crazy 3rd street fold?
Does the 0.25/0.50 mean ante = 0.25 and bring-in = 0.50 or is the game played with blinds?

[/ QUOTE ] No ante, bring in 0.25 or complete 0.50 If I thought there was a reasonable chance I'd get heads up by raising I might have considered that. Calling doesn't feel right since I have virtually no outs. The best I realistically can hope for is aces up, which is a vulnerable holding against several players and of course there's a great risk I won't even get that since I need to pair up on the last four cards. |

No ante, bring in 0.25 or complete 0.50 [/ QUOTE ] So at this point, you either call the $0.25 bring-in or you complete to $0.50? Once there is a completion, can someone make a pot-sized bet? |

I have at best one out to improve my hand at the moment. [/ QUOTE ] At the moment you do, but as you pick up other cards on later streets you can more outs to draw to aces up, which will win the pot more likely than not. You should definitely play this hand, and play it strongly. |

Re: Crazy 3rd street fold?
Gotta raise 3rd I would say. Might as well play it like you have a pair of aces (cause you do). Hopefully someone will re-raise with an inferior pair and you can get heads-up.

Re: Crazy 3rd street fold?
Granted I don't play pot-limit, but I think this is too tight. I would probably pot it right away myself, but I think limping is reasonable as well.
