he apparently petitioned to another mod and they unbanned him.

unlike whoever did, i am not a fan of unilaterally reversing other moderators' decisions so i didn't re-ban him. i will if i notice his posts in oot again.

Can you get stars for regular posts or only for starting bad threads? Just wanted to clarify.

If someone trolls in a thread, even w/o starting a new one, I sure as hell hope they get stars.

Wow, that is ridiculous. That dude is probably the worst regular poster in the poker forums of recent history!

only in exceptional circumstances where somebody has a clear and welcome presence in other forums, but seriously sucks at oot. i think i've done it once.

i consider how long a person has been a member, how many posts they have, and most importantly look at their previous posts to help determine what's appropriate.

OMG, that guy.

MO: Start awful thread. Face flameathon. Rail against the injustice of it all, at OOTer's inhumanity to OOTer, and how he certainly won't be coming back. Repeat.

This * policy is insane. There was no explanation to how the system worked until after it was implemented. It's just another way to further inflate the ego's of the moderators.

Now don't get me wrong, I understand that without moderators this site would turn into chaos, but a few of them are simply going too far. Seems we need moderators for the moderators.

The moderators are doing quite well, in my opinion. For those who don't know, however, I'm the one to contact in cases of real confusion or trouble.
