Default Poll - what is your skill level compared to your bankroll?

Edit - made a spelling mistake on the 2nd option. Sorry.

Just to add my two cents, one way to look at it is what is your bb/100 over a large sample vs. bankroll size.

In other words, if you have 2BB/100 or greater win rate over lets say 50k hands but don't have enough bankroll perhaps your skill is higher than your bankroll.

i voted that my skill level was less than my bankroll...someone stated in a thread earlier today that your bankroll will grow faster than your skill (maybe Monty), i think this is true as long as someone is able to beat their current level...perhaps i just don't have the confidence in my skill level (or am too risk averse) to move up...

Oh, my bankroll is easily greater than my skill level. GB bonuses.

This is true if you overlook the fact of people sometimes having to spend their bankroll for varying reasons, and thus having to start over from the lower levels again.

P.S. still most answers to the poll if people were actually able to judge themselves accurately would fall in the lower two.

I don't even know what this question means? I have an idea of what you are getting at, but I don't think it makes any sense at all.

Its kind of nice without any units like this...leaves it wide open.

I think I will answer "medium-large"

I'm bankrolled for 10/20, but I don't think I would be for long.

I think a better question would be, "What limit would your bankroll allow you to play, and what limits are you actually playing?"

I've been rather cautious with my bankroll thus far, which may or may not have cost me money. In Gambling Theory and Other Topics, Mason discusses in detail about how playing under your bankroll is almost as bad as playing over it. I go back to that essay quite often, and compare it with some of the "real life" stories I have read here on 2+2 as well as have witnessed in real life, where potentially long-term winning players got a little over their heads a little too fast and lost everything. It is indeed hard to balance your bankroll with your skill, as the latter is often misjudged and the former miscalculated.
