Default Interesting Hidden KK-----8/B

Anyone play this differently? I thought about folding fourth, but the fact that I had a three flush, three straight with live ones kept me in. Should I be folding there? The rest is pretty standard I think. Comments?

I'd probably play it the same.

Note that it doesn't really matter if you have split tens of kings here.

Ick, against those boards I'd fold 4th. There is a very small chance of your scooping. Very low scoop odds and you're going to get outdrawn by one of them way too often.

Maybe I'm too weak, but I think my biggest leak in stud8 is overplaying high pairs. Either that or it is variance (it seems even if I manage to get it HU I still get scooped an inordinate proportion of the time).

I agree. Don't waste your $$$ on hidden (non-threatening) Kings, particularly when they're semi-dead.

Yes looking back, I think this is a pretty easy fold. I think I'm guilty of overplaying my high pairs as well, even Aces

There is a part in Ray's book where he says that if you have a high hand and you're against two players who have low door cards and they catch low cards that are close in rank to their door cards, you should fold. This is something that didn't sink in for me until my twenty-somethingth reading. I think this is a little different because:

1) You have other possibilities.
2) The pot's a little bigger.
3) Because their boards are so low, straights are less of a threat. I'd be more worried if I were up against 64 and 54.

Fourth street still isn't a great situation. The rest is, as you say, standard.
