Default new suit

in the market for a new suit. i'm thinking 3-button, italian wool, dark navy. i want something that will last a long time, nice looking - something that i can wear to semi-formal occasions and meetings. i'm not going for the high-powered business look - more towards the casual end. i'm not really well versed in what a good purchase would be.

how much should i spend? and where should i go?

i'm living in boston, about to graduate college. thanks guys

College graduation eh? I remember my friend's.

You'll need something to hide the cum stains.

A three-button dark navy suit is a not a casual suit. But that is ok. If you're going to get one suit, I'd go the conservative route. For formal occasions, you can wear it with a white or blue oxford and a solid tie. For more casual occasions, you can wear it with a colorful oxford / patterned tie, or no tie, or even a solid t-shirt instead of the oxford.

i know what to wear with a suit, i'm asking for advice on how much to spend/where to buy. and a navy 3-button is infinitely more casual than a black one.

I bought 8 suits for work but I'm business formal. They all cost orignally $800-$900 but after sales and such, about $450-$550 a piece. All this was at marshall fields.
