Default ($16) 99 in MP with 12BB

I'm really not sure what to be doing when I'm floating at around 12-15BBs in the middle of the tourny. I don't feel like I have enough of a stack to be making a normal raise, but there isn't enough money in the pot for pushing to be a great idea either. That leaves call or fold??

I'm not happy with this hand, and I'm hoping for some suggestions on what to do in this and similar situations.

I was really playing my 99 for set value here. (Dumb??) I was not expecting anyone to push to steal the pot because the table hadn't been overly aggressive yet, and everyone left had healthy stacks.

Then when it checked around to me, I figured:
- it was a pretty ragged flop
- It might have missed everyone
- I might be good.

I bet 1/2 pot and this was the last money I was planning to put into the pot.

Not even a pithy "fold pre-flop"?

Anyone?

I don't fold preflop to a pair here. I will see the flop and look for a set. I dont' know about the flop though. I figure to a bet of 200 they probably fold 75% of the time or so. Plug in whatever number you think there if you feel I am wrong. So you are putting out a total of 300 chips to win the 300 in the pot.

Now where will you be afterwards if you win? 1400 chips right? Ehh I don't know maybe this isn't worth it no matter what... Nahh see the flop but I don't like the situation.

Okay can someone with more than my 2 current brain cells give input here please?

Thanks

Fold pre-flop (there now are you happy?)
What about a push here?

Oh, the post flop bet looks good.

I thought about a push... There is 250 in the pot now, is it worth the risk at this point? I'm not desperate for the chips, but they would be nice.

I'm having difficulty figuring out where the sweet-spot is for the risk/reward of pushing at these intermediate levels. At 75/150 or higher I would have insta-pushed this, but I wasn't sure at 50/100.

Thanks,
Kent
