Default Poker at Bally\'s

I will be staying at Bally's this fall and I wondered if anyone has played poker there. I am trying to plan my poker time out. I play low limit hold'em. From what I have read, Bally's has a small room, which would make me think there would be a lot of waiting. If anyone has any information that they would like to share, I would appreciate it. My only other casino playing experience has been at the Goldstrike in Tunica and I enjoyed that so I am looking forward to Vegas.

Ballys: Fast drink service. Poker room is just a roped off section in the middle of the casino floor next to the craps tables. Very loud and smokey because of this. A class act!

As for the low limit games, they are the same everywhere.

I like the $1 poker chips there. They have a showgirl on them. Oh and the fast drink service helped me play with some of the drunkest people I have ever played with.

Very very close to Bellagio, Alladdin, Mirage, Imperial Palace, Harrahs, and Flamingo, all of which have poker rooms. Walking time to any of these is 10 minutes or less. Bellagio is just across the street.

If your only experience is at the Gold Strike (I was up there for a month during the WPO this year), you're in for a shock. Tunica is where culture goes to die. The only thing growing are casino profits, cotton, and your waist line if you head for the Memphis BBQ.

Bally's is nice, great location in the middle of everything, cool sports book... you should have a great time!

Drunkfest with poor players. The room had not been open long the last time I played and the dealers were still slow.

I stayed at the lovely Barbary Coast for a very low cost trip and this was very close. Of course, the walk back produced several conversations about company for cash.

I was there last weekend and at my table was a dealer who was blind in his left eye, a kid with visible metal plates in his face from a car accident, a quadriplegic who had a guy there to move his chips for him, a local who claimed to be a top notch pro, and a gypsy who had just fulfilled his arranged marriage.

All this at a 1/2 NL game that was 70% weak. Have fun.

I'm actually a dealer at Bally's so here's my take:

2-4 Hold em and 1-2 NL are run all the time. Games are generally weak especially NL. You can easily make 100 bucks playing a smart NL Game.

We have the only Pineapple tournaments in the entire city. Tuesday - $50 Pineapple; Wednesday - $50 Crazy Pineapple; Thursday - $77 Shootout NL. Competition is VERY WEAK.

Cocktail service is great and fast.

Even though there are some newbies dealers, overall I believe we have pretty good dealers with a lot of personality.

I generally work Day shift, so if you see me say hi...

I loved Bally's when I played there a few months ago. The games were very good at 4/8 and my buddies played 1/2 and did okay if not for some horrendous beats. You should do very well there.

There was a dealer who dealt a flop before any betting...she never heard the end of it from us all week.
