Default Calculate your winrate and bankroll requirements with this

Every week there is a new post about winrates and bankroll requirements. Maybe this can help some of those posters.

Me and Snow (another swedish 2+2er) have created a page where u can calculate how big bankroll you need (given your BB/100 and Standard deviation). And calculate how much your true, long term, winrate can differ from the one you got right now (given your number of hands, your winrate, your standarddeviation and how sure u want to be (1-100%)

The math behind it is taken from Malmuths Gambling Theory and Other Topics. A book you should read if u are interested in these sort of things.

What is standard deviation BB/100?

[/ QUOTE ]

A statistical measure of how spread out each individual hand's results are from the expectation (a 2bb/100 player expects to make 0.02 bb / hand). This is assuming the result of each hand falls into a normal (gaussian) distribution.

Winrate:

Use PT filters (Preferences tab) to filter down to a specific limit/timeframe.

General Info Tab -> put # of hands and BB / 100 into the calculator.

Session Notes Tab -> More Detail button -> Standard Deviation/100 Hands: $YYY -- XXX Big Bets. Put XXX into the Standard Deviation box.

Confidence Interval: You chose this. It is a measure of how accurate the range that is calculated will be. You might try values of 75, 90, 95.

If you chose a confidence interval of 90%, and the range you get back is (-1,3) bb/100, it means that 90% of the time your true bb/100 lies within that range.
