Default Not a question about when the boom will end....

I'm not so curuious as to when the 'boom' will end. I'm more interested in knowing how the talent I've developed to expoloit the boom will affect my earning potential in the future?

I've been playing for a very brief time in regard to poker and player development, approximately a year. This income when I play is nice, it allows me to have nice toys. As long as there is room for my growth as a poker player my growth as a player should overcome the decrease in new players or supposed players prone to making mistake? Is this a fair assesment of the situation in the future?

I really thought you were talking about some sort of nuclear holocaust until the last line.

Yep. I think the key for the professional player, is that he/she continues to grow. Opportunities will wax and wane over time, but if your talent is sharp, you will always have a good game to rely on.

Barring some catastrophic economic collapse, the opportunities will always be there - if you are talented.

My two cents worth is that while poker will plateau, it's popularity will remain (albeit at a lower frenzy). People love to gamle. It's not like any blackjack or slots has "jumped the shark".
