Default Buy-in terminology

What does the second dollar amount in a buy-in mean? For example, if the buy-in is defined as $14 + $2, what is the $2 about? Thanks.

the 2 dollars goes to the casino/site, it's not part of the prize pool.

in 14+2 the $14 is the part that is given as prizes, and the $2 is the fee that the organization giving the tourney takes.
