Default Playing Aces

This table had started out extremely LAG earlier, but had died down somewhat as a couple of the most maniacal players left the table. My read on MP1 was unclear. He had beaten me for a sizable pot a couple hands ago with boat vs. boat action.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, MP1 calls, <font color="666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, SB calls, <font color="666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls.

Perfect hand, perfect position. They have to pay me a big commission to see a flop.

Flop: (13 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, <font color="CC3333">MP1 bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, SB folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls.

Once again, this works out perfectly, and I'm able to protect my hand for a change, even in a big pot.

Turn: (8.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">MP1 bets</font>, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="CC3333">MP1 3-bets</font>, Hero calls.

MP1 is betting back into my flop raise. I think he improved, but I don't know if he caught two pair or just his queen. I pop another one off and go into calldown mode when I'm 3-bet.

River: (14.50 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">MP1 bets</font>, Hero calls.

I'm not sure if this second 9 helped me or hurt me. It destroys a lower 2-pair if he had one, but could make a boat or the like, too. I just want to see a showdown and call.

Final Pot: 16.50 BB
<font color="green">Main Pot: 16.50 BB, between Hero and MP1.</font>

I think you slowed down at the right time. I agree that the river 9 could've helped or hurt you, very tough to tell, so I agree with just calling the river.

His cold-call preflop doesn't scream Q9 (then again you don't have much of a read, so I don't know). That's the 2-pair you would have to be most concerned with. I would guess he bet and called with overcards, and caught his queen. You could cap the turn, but I'd probably play it the same way you did.

I know what you mean ... I only have 2500 hands in PT, but my AA is still in the red due to multiple terrible river suckouts with trip aces on the flop against inside straight draws on rags. I'm confident it will improve, though.
