Have helicopters fly over your place every couple of nights spraying malathion.

Introduce a bunch of sterile fruit flies into your environment.

The other flies will mate with them, but there will be no offspring.

Eventually, they will all die out.

I've cleaned thoroughly, put all food away, and came up with the brilliant idea of putting orange wedges in bottles/cups to attract the flies. I then cap/cover the bottle/cup, and throw the flies out in the dumpster.

put the orange wedges in a cup or jar, then cover the opening with a funnel made out of paper (think paper oil funnel or snocone with the bottom cut) so that the opening is about the size of a dime. the flies will fly in and not be able to find the exit.

You mean fruit flies actually exist outside of middle school science labs?

Putting out food to attract bugs hoping that you'll "catch them all" is not a good strategy.

Dynasty, you are totally wrong on this one.

A paper funnel, a jar, and a slice of banana is the best remedy out there.
