when open raising on the button.
assume passive players in a 1-2 or 2-4 game.

Those are pretty much just off hand. They can vary pretty much if the blinds are tough or weak.

Too tight. You are folding a lot of hands that are "power" hands in a 3-handed game. Add in your favorable position and you are giving up way too much regardless of whether you have any steal equity at all.

33, A2s, A2, K4s, K6, Q8s, Q9, J8s, J9, T8s, T9, 98s is my default.

It is important to understand that loose/passive players are a reason to play as many hands as you possibly can. Their postflop mistakes will make you rich. There is more to life than winning the blinds.
