Default o8 questions

i recently started playing limit o8 on party (50c-$1). I have been 4 tabling playing very tight in comparison to the rest of the players at my tables. I am completly new to o8 and im essentially learning on the job.

I bought PT OMAHA, more as a way to record my own play than for any kind of analysis(dont know enough about the game). After around 10k hands my
vpip=16
wasd=64
BB/100 = 6.5 (small sample size, + running good?)

I plan on maintaining a seperate 08 bankroll and hope to move up the limits. Right now i feel that the only difference betweeen me and my oppnents is that i play alot tighter preflop and a little bit smarter post flop.

at what limit will this stop being enough to win?

thanks
s.

Someday,

You are on the right track. I think you will find a vpip of 16 to be just a bit low. There is probably 1 more hand per orbit or two that you could find profitable and get that vpip up to about 22 or 23.

Everything else looks good.

By the way, I've had success with this technique through 2/4.

You should be a solid winner at $3-6 and possibly $5-10 with that style.

You might find my website helpful www.o8poker.com as I note some pokertracker metrics there

Although adding a few more starting hands might prove profitable for you, don't go crazy. You can be a winner at these limits by simply playing tigher then everyone else. In all liklihood you will naturally add more playable hands as you become more familar with the circumstances that make some of the more marginal starts worth a bet.

thanks for the input guys.

Is it safe to say i could do reasonably well, up to around 5-10 with this style of play?

It shocks me to think that the play could be so bad at 5-10 that the simple adjustment of playing tighter than everybody else could bring home a decent chunk of change.

would 2-3 bb/100 be doable at 5-10?
