2-4 v 3-6 (party)

quality of oppenents,

does anyone think a winning multi table player is better off in the party 2-4 as opposed to the party 3-6?

I think that 3/6 is quite a bit tougher in terms of opponents.
However if u can find a good table then its prob similar to 2/4 just a bit more aggressive with a few less fish on each table.

ive played them both in the past.
I won at around 1.5bb/100 around 60k hands at 3-6.
and 1bb/100 at 2-4 over a much smaller sample of around 12k.

Ive recently decided to move down to 2-4 after bad down swing to plug some leaks in my play and find the games much much softer. in the past two weeks ive banged out around 20k hands and my bb100 is 3.5

obviously little can be taken from such small hand samples but im thinking of staying at 2-4 and seeing how it goes, just wondered if anyone was thinking along the same lines.

3/6 is tighter and more aggressive. For most folks, I think they can make more at 2/4 than 3/6. I pretty easily average 3.5+BB/100 at 2/4 for about 4 months. I'm struggling to break even at 3/6.

However, my goal is to move up and if I have to pay tuition at the 3/6 level to plug some leaks, then that's what I'll do.

I think the reason that the 2/4 seems softer is because you are a better player. And you are a better player because of your 3/6 experience. I know I learn the most when I am being challenged and playing against the best competition I can find.

If you just want to make a few bucks and are not interested in challenging yourself or becoming the best poker player that you can be then stay at 2/4.

I dont think it is necesarily a bad idea to drop down a limit or two if you are running/playing poorly, especially if you have bankroll concerns.

I believe that you should be trying to move up, not down though.
