Default Multi tables @6max

first post- be gentle with me!

i recently made the jump from 3-6 ring game to 5-10 6max.
I have 4tabled 3-6 at party for around 60k hands.

looking for change i decided to try 6 max.
obviously there is no comparison.
i got crushed for my first few sessions.
in retrospect i should have tried 6max at a lower limit.
its taken me a while but i finally feel i have a grasp on the game.

my question is this,
how the hell do you guys manage to play more than one table at 6max?

ive played up to 6 tables at once (3-6 ring game)
but have to put all my attention into one 6max table

cheers.

seriously, it comes with time a lot of plays/situations that are unfamilar to you now will become automatic after a few thousand hands

You have to start off slow. I'm now comfortable w/ 2-tabling after 12k hands (though I'm still in the red) and can't see myself 3-tabling for a long time. A lot of these situations in 6-max are new to me after beating full ring 2/4 and 3/6 for a long time and to multitable effectively these situations need to come naturally.. which I will only gain from tons of experience.

Just constantly work on building your powers of concentration. Practice makes perfect. The safety net is that if you start feeling distracted/zoned out/tilty at any time, you must immediately drop tables.

I've never been a big multitabler, preferring to stick with 2-3 tables, but there are some folks that play many more, even shorthanded.

You're starting out right, though. ONE table. Some people moving up start out with 2-4.

Frankly, though, I think that moving right to 5/10 is a huge mistake. Much better to pay your dues at the 1/2 for a few thousand hands.

Agreed, though I might suggest PS or Pokerroom 2/4, as both from a winnings (especially coming from 3/6) and game play standpoint the Party 1/2 can be both maddening and mind-numbingly dull. If I can beat the stars 2/4, no way you can't as well..
