Default Deal-making on TV

Did anyone else catch Poker Royale last night, where Paul Wolfe joked about making a 3-way deal when he was almost out of chips? For those that didn't see it, he asked the other two players if they wanted to chop, and then Robert Williamson, who was doing the commentary, explained in detail what he was referring to. I was kind of shocked because I thought deal-making was being kept hush-hush by TPTB and this was the first time I'd even heard it mentioned, even in a joking way, on a TV poker program. Maybe because WPPA is not run by TPTB?
