Default blind play

Being new to 6 max, one of the areas ive struggled with is my play in the blinds.

When folded round to the blinds
I have been playing v tight in the SB and much more liberally in the BB. Giving up my SB - rather than play a marginal hand OOP.

Am I hurting my game by making decisions on whether to raise, call or fold from a positional standpoint rather than an equity standpoint.

Ill take a wild guess and say I that Im sure that this has come up before- couldn’t find anything via search- so any advice and or links to relevant posts would be much appreciated.

Regards, S.
