Default 1/2 questionable line - how do you eat yours....

I don't have the hand history but I know how it went down :

Villain is SB and we have no read as he has just sat down.

1/2 Prima Poker ( 6 players )
Hero has : K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

UTG limps, folds to Hero in Dealer who raises, SB autoraises, UTG calls, Hero calls.

Flop :
K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB Bets, UTG calls, Hero calls

Turn :
4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB Bets, UTG calls, Hero calls

River :
2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

SB Bets, UTG calls, Hero calls

Anyone play this differently, and why / how?

True.

I raise the flop and take it from there. If I don't raise the flop, then I raise the turn.

SB can't cap if we raise....

but I don't see many things that we beat that 3-bet that board after being raised pf.

AK / KK / AA beat us
JJ / QQ / TT / (maybe 99) lose - not many of these 3-bet
KQs - draws

AQ / AJ aren't putting much in this pot if we raise.

I raise the flop planning to call down if 3-bet (possibly folding if an ace hits but not likely).

Without a read I don't give much credit at $1/2 until the betting makes it clear im beat. You should have a decent range raising the buitton, so SB pre 3-bet can have a range much gtreater than AA, AK or KK which are the main hands you need to be afraid of. I can't imagine anyone thinking calling down is a good play, I think you need to raise at some point to find out where you are at.

I played a WA/WB line, is this the right time to use it, I thought that we probably had UTG beat and there may have been value in bet/raising, but then we slow down SB who loves his hand, or he raises and UTG drops out.

I am just wondering if my line is anywhere close to a decent play?

Raising for value, I would agree with.

Raising for information -----

I just thought that this guy either had me owned, or had little chance to improve but may keep betting hoping his hand is good. Classic WA/WB.

There aren't that many "instabet" 3-bets from SB that don't fall into TT ----> AA and AK / AQs. And as stated before there isn't a huge amount of value in raising, perhaps 1SB when we are ahead, and we lose a lot when behind.

Tough decision. I would either call down or raise the turn. Problem is that if we raise SB can fold and we loose bets or he can threebet and UTG fold with us having to pay one more.
Without a read on either one of them ill probably play it the same way.

Your are somewhat right, thus if you are 3-bet you can potential get away from the hand (I don't know if I would though). But you have no read.... so you can't be sure of anything. People will call to hit an ace with AQ or even A9s. They'll call with any pair alot too. The SB bet on the flop is almost an automatic continaution bet, so it doesn't really mean alot.

If your behind you should find out quickly, if not your raising for value and trying to protect your hand. Dont be afraid of MUBS, your good alot of the time.
