Science Proves: Bush Supporters Less Smart
According to a composite of three polls by the Program on International Policy Attitudes:
"Even after the final report of Charles Duelfer to Congress saying that Iraq did not have a significant WMD program, 72% of Bush supporters continue to believe that Iraq had actual WMD (47%) or a major program for developing them (25%). Fifty-six percent assume that most experts believe Iraq had actual WMD and 57% also assume, incorrectly, that Duelfer concluded Iraq had at least a major WMD program. Kerry supporters hold opposite beliefs on all these points. Similarly, 75% of Bush supporters continue to believe that Iraq was providing substantial support to al Qaeda, and 63% believe that clear evidence of this support has been found. Sixty percent of Bush supporters assume that this is also the conclusion of most experts, and 55% assume, incorrectly, that this was the conclusion of the 9/11 Commission. Here again, large majorities of Kerry supporters have exactly opposite perceptions." |

Don't you know it's a bad move to be the first to respond to a thread about ignorant Bush supporters?

Already been posted. [/ QUOTE ] I think we posted similar reports from PIPA, but this looks like a new one. Some of the polling data looks like its from mid-October. That is unless there is a new post that I haven't read and that is what you mean by the above quote. Maybe "already been posted" refers to the post title. Yes, that fact, err, opinion has already been proven, err, I mean posted. |

Iraq did have WMD\'s
Don't even try to say they didn't. I'm not saying necessarily that they had them at the time of our invasion but at one point or another they did have stockpiles.

Iraq did not have WMDs
Iraq did not have WMDs. Not when the US invaded, and not for a long time before that. (You don't flush WMDs down the toilet as if it's a police raid.)
The UN sanctions were working. The intelligence was there. The leadership knew. But the decision to go in was taken before even 9/11 happened and had nothing to do with WMDs, Qaeda or Saddm's moustache. I don't understand how a majority of Bush supporters think otherwise on these issues when all they have to do is read a paper or listen to the news more carefully. I guess between a Bush supporter and a Bush opponent, I would rather have the former to sit at my table and ask for chips. |

Re: Science Proves: Bush Supporters Less Smart
A prior study showed the same thing. I am amazed that Bush supporters still don't have their facts straight on these issues.
Another study showed Bush supporters don't even know what policies their candidate supports. ie. they believe he supports Kyoto treaty on Global Warming or In. Criminal Court. Half of all Americans are dumber than the average American. |
