this has been fun to listen to recently... keeps me nice and relaxed:

Yeah I've been listening to this one a lot recently too. He's something different and has a very mellow sound.

Also I recomend Dream Theater: Metropolis
Sit down with it and some candles (or low lighting) and read through the lyrics as you listen. Then find your own meaning to the story. I love concept albums.

Hardcore:
Cro Mags- The Age Of Quarrel
Integrity- Humanity Is The Devil
Killing Time- Brightside

[/ QUOTE ]

Brightside and Age of Quarrel are classics. But you have to be kidding me with Humanity is the Devil. Those Who Fear Tomorrow is what Integrity is all about. It is a hardcore classic and makes Humanity is the Devil look like a pile of steaming dung.

Good stuff I've been playing lately:

Lucinda Williams:
- Cart Wheels on a Gravel Road
- World Without Tears

Emmylou Harris: Wrecking Ball

Cowboy Junkies:
- Trinity Sessions
- Caution Horses

Ned Sublette: Cowboy Rumba

Maria McKee: (self titled solo album)

Over the Rhine: Good Dog Bad Dog, The Home Recordings

Soundtrack to "Last of the Mohicans"

Keep in mind I'm 51 years old and some/many people think I'm a nit. Perhaps my opinions should be disregarded.

~ Rick

Excellent call on the Last of the Mohicans Soundtrack.

Just realized that not everybody recognizes this as the greatest album evah: Toad the Wet Sprocket's "Fear". I'll never tire of that disc.

Greatful Dead and or Phish, and I cant recommend Albulms just live concerts. Go Grab any Dicks Picks (the Dead) from prior to 76 or any Live Phish from 90-96
THe have them in stires, usually there 2 disk sets. If you like it you can download tons more for free.

If you really start to dig the Jam Bands you can dive into , Disco Biscuits, Moe, Govt Mule and Medski Martin and Wood as well as about 20 others I can't name but rock.

If you like trancey/trippy stuff, Try DJ Logic - Project Logic

I guess working mans dead would be the standard, but I don't own any studio albulms from either band so I couldn't tell you. Though Skeletons from the Closet is the standard albulm in most Juke Boxes

lol. I just can't imagine anyone recommending those eminem and dre albums over others they've made. like I said, the killers suck, and I don't think anyone really needs to recommend tupac and biggie

[/ QUOTE ]

To be honest, I just named the killers off the top of my head because I didn't have many rock groups listed. Also, you said whatever we've been listening to lately, not the best, I reccomended the albums of those artists that I've been listening to. If you want the best, that's subjective, and you should have said "I want the best." Do you think old green day sucks? I haven't listened to old weezer, but I like the stuff I've heard of them. Anyway, if you're gonna be a prick about my reccomendations, being what I've been listening to lately, I suggest go with what somebody else reccomended, Mac Dre.
